THE EGG IS WHAT?

Ok, so on Easter Sunday we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and   Savior, Jesus Christ. So, what is the purpose of the Easter egg? What does the Easter egg have to do with the resurrection of Jesus? Well, you see, it’s like this:

Pick up an egg. Take a good look at it. Be it the real egg or a plastic egg, it has a shell. When you open the egg you find good stuff to eat inside—of course the real egg has much healthier stuff inside to eat than the plastic egg with candy in it, but it is all good stuff.

So, now let’s look at what we have after we take out all the good stuff, we have an empty shell—even with the real egg the shell is still empty, just in a lot of little pieces. Now, we see that the egg shell represents the tomb that Jesus was buried in. Just as the egg had good stuff in it until we took it out and ate it, Jesus’ tomb had good stuff in it until Jesus came back to life and left the tomb. Jesus is good stuff because He took all of our sins upon Himself and, by taking the punishment He endured, He paid the price for our sins.                          (John 20:1-10) (1 Peter 2:22-24)

Jesus, defeated Satan on the cross and by coming back to life there is now an empty tomb where He had been, just like there is now an empty egg shell, be it real or plastic, after you took all the good stuff out.              (John 16:11) (Hebrews 2:14)

So you see, the egg represents Jesus’ tomb, it was full of good stuff, now it is empty and we have partook of the good stuff that was inside the egg, just like we get to partake of Jesus. But Jesus is much better when we partake of Him because we don’t get a sugar high and get fat by eating too much candy or too many real eggs. Jesus gives us life eternal with Him in Heaven IF we ask Him to forgive us of our sins and to come into us and be our Lord and Savior.

Jesus made it so easy for us to be saved/born again. All we have to do is ask Him.

Just like with Christmas, paganism has crept into Easter/Resurrection Sunday, but we can redeem it for the glory of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. That is what this tract is all about.
